About
A travel guide built around real trips, not ad revenue
Explore Sri Lanka started as a set of honest, detailed notes on planning a trip around the island. It’s grown into a small guide network — but the writing and the trip planning are still meant to work the same way: no filler, no guesswork.

Why this site exists
Most Sri Lanka travel content online falls into two categories: generic listicles written without ever visiting, or tour operator sites that push you toward whatever package is most profitable for them. We wanted something in between — genuinely useful destination writing, plus a straightforward way to get a real itinerary built by someone who knows the ground, without the upsell.
How the guide-connection model works
Read, or go straight to planning
Browse the blog for destination-specific advice, or skip straight to the trip planning form if you already know roughly what you want.
Tell us about your trip
Dates, group size, interests, and budget — a few minutes of your time gives us enough to build something worthwhile.
We match you with a local guide
Your inquiry is reviewed by a person and matched to a guide from our small network who covers that region or interest.
You get a plan back, no obligation
A custom itinerary comes back by email. If it's not a fit, that's fine — there's no pressure and no hard sell.
On trust and transparency
We don’t publish direct contact details for individual guides — inquiries route through the site so that every trip request gets reviewed and matched deliberately, rather than travelers cold-contacting whoever ranks highest in a search result. We don’t sell your details to third parties, and there’s no cost to submit an inquiry or receive a plan back.
