Day by day
Days 1–2 — Cultural Triangle
Arrive and settle near Sigiriya. Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress and visit the Dambulla Cave Temples at an unrushed pace, with time for the water gardens and Pidurangala viewpoint.
Days 3–4 — Kandy
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Royal Botanical Gardens, a spice garden visit, and an evening cultural performance.
Days 5–6 — Nuwara Eliya
Cool hill-station town surrounded by tea estates. Tea factory tour, a walk around Gregory Lake, and time in the Horton Plains for hikers.
Days 7–8 — Ella
Scenic train onward to Ella. Little Adam's Peak, Nine Arch Bridge, and — for the more ambitious — the longer hike up Ella Rock.
Days 9–10 — Yala National Park
Drive to the southeast for two safari drives in Yala, home to leopards, elephants, and abundant birdlife.
Days 11–12 — Mirissa
South coast beach time. Whale watching in season (November–April), surfing, or simply slowing down.
Days 13–14 — Galle and departure
Explore Galle Fort's Dutch colonial old town, browse local shops and cafés, then transfer back to Colombo for departure.
